The story of Amir Arsalan is one of the popular stories of Iranian literature in the Qajar period. This article tries to analyze the hidden and obvious cultural and identity structures by comparing the text and image, recovering the cultural roots, introduces and studies its appearance in the lithographed manuscript of 1317 Hijri. The story of Amir Arsalan is one of the most famous romance long stories. Amir Arsalan was written in the middle of the Qajar period and some features of traditional and ancient Iranian stories and some features of novels and modern novels can be retrieved. This features is also evident in the lithographed images of the book. The research method in this article is descriptive-analytical with a historical approach and the method of collecting information is library method. The results show that due to the existence of multiple identities in the culture and society of the Qajar period, multiple layers of identity in the literature and art of this period can be retrieved. Therefore, in the story of the Amir Arsalan, there are three identity layers: the Western identity layer is on the first level, the traditional Iranian-Islamic identity layer is on the second level and the Archaism identity layer is on the lower or weaker level in the literary and visual identities.
