قرائت قافیه ای از شاهنامة‌ فردوسی

چکیده

این مقاله بحثی است در زبان‌شناسی تاریخی دربارة شیوة قرائت ماده مضارع مر - به معنی مردن - در شاهنامه. نخست پنج مورد فراوانی این پدیدة زبانی در شاهنامه فراهم آمده است و سپس با توجه به شواهد دیگر در متون مشابه آن و گویش‌های زندة موجود، سه قرائت مُر، مِر و مَر به یاری قواعد قافیه به محک آزمون زده شده است و در نهایت سیر تحقیق، قرائت مَر را از حیث تاریخی پذیرفتنی‌تر مسائل قرائت‌های دیگر یافته است.

This article is a discussion in historical linguistics on the correct reading of the present stem of [mordan] ‘die’ in Shahname. Since short vowels are not represented in Persian orthography, the present stem of [mordan] can have one of the three following readings: [mor], [mer], and [mar]. Considering evidence from similar texts and present dialects of Persian, it is argued here that [mar] is the best reading of this stem.
