"John Barth" In his two important articles entitled "the Literature of Exhaustion" and "the Literature of Replenishment", criticizes modernist extremism in the novel as well as classical narration. He considers the creative combination of the narration methods of the two mentioned currents as the only way to get rid of the impasse in fiction literature. A proposal that would lead to the creation of post-modern narratives that emphasize the discursive nature of the story. Among the writers of Persian fiction, Mustafa Mastour is the one who has made remarkable efforts in creating creative narratives due to his deep familiarity with the theoretical foundations of fiction writing. The novel "Three short reports about Navid and Negar" is one of the notable examples of his works, in which there is a creative fusion between the two modes of narration "telling" and "showing". In this way, by using the two modes of first-person narration in the text of the story and the omniscient narrator in the footnote section, the author has put the challenges and encounters of the narrators as a basis for projecting critical views on these two types of perspectives. In this article, which is written in a descriptive-analytical way, an attempt will be made to examine both the method of Replenishment the novel and to analyze the author's critical view to the perspective. The results show that Mastur has been able to enrich his novel by combining modern and pre-modern narrative styles.
