Shaykh Abd al-Razzāq Naqshbandi is one of the Kashmir’s greatest Sufi saints and the follower of "Naqshbandi (Khwajagān)" order. He composed his poetry book "Dar al-Salaam" in the same poetic metre as that of Sanaei’s Hadiqat al-Haqiqat". Apart from explaining Islamic ethics, the poet has given an account of his personal life, how he entered the way of tarīqat or spiritual journey and the teachings of sufism as well. Narrations has not quoted much information about this Kashmiri poet, but the remaining relics from Dar al-Salaam provides detailed information about this poet and the situation of his era. This paper provides an introduction to this Sufi’s life and a structural/content analysis of his poetry, using the descriptive-analytic method. Only two manuscripts of Dar al-Salaam have been preserved till date, written by Shaykh Abdul Qadeer Badri in the thirteenth century Hijri. The Shaykh’s poetry is mostly simple and comprehensible. Lessening and increment of phonemes is the most important phonological characteristics of Divan. Even though, the Shaykh’s Divan has been written in the contemporary language of his era, the poet has used many old Persian and Arabic words. Instead of using literary and rhetorical methods in his book, the poet has mostly used allusions and epigraphs, which shows heavy influence of Islamic and sufi texts over him.
