Popular literature that includes the rituals, beliefs and traditions of each region; One of the sources and foundations of literature of any country, especially its fiction. Knowing these themes leads to a better and more accurate knowledge of the literature of nations and especially their fictional literature. Iranian fiction has been divided into several schools, including the southern school of fiction, according to the wide and diverse regions of our country. In this research, with an analytical-descriptive method, we examined the effects of popular culture; Including the rituals, beliefs and traditions of the people of the South in the works of three writers of the South School; Ahmad Mahmoud, Mohammad Ayoubi and Ghobad Azar Ayin who have high frequency and while examining and classifying them, we came to the conclusion that the reflection of popular literature in the stories of these authors gives spirit and depth to life and in addition to increasing the human aspect of literature and creating a sense of empathy for the reader; It doubles the effect of the story on the audience and transfers the spirit of the language to the story. In this way, the authors have helped to preserve the rituals, beliefs and language of that region, especially words and compounds, and have added to the richness and expansion of the standard language.
