The Missing Soluch, Mahmoud Dowlatabadi's work is one of the great realistic works of Iran that, So far, the status of religion and the role of religious elements in it have not been taken into account by literary analysts; The present study aims to emphasize the role of religion as a rooted need and an important principle in constructing individual and collective behavior and actions, as well as its place in the mind and language of the author and the ups and downs of literary creations.The research used a descriptive-analytic method with an inductive approach to analyze the religious views of Dowlatabadi in The Missing Soluch And examines the impact of society on the novel's characters' beliefs and the author's view of the role of religion in personal and social action. In order to provide a applied research mode, The position of religion in this novel is examined by Erich Fromm's theory of religions. Equivalent to the examples of the text, it is proved that despite the similarities between the two and the direct influence of society on religious perceptions in the characters of the novel, authoritarian religions have had a greater impact on the formation of the characters of the novel. However, traces of Humanistic religions can also be traced and analyzed in this work. The result showed religion and the role of religious affairs in the novel are portrayed very faintly thatThe reason can be attributed to the views of Dowlatabadi and the impact of land reform
