The focus of this paper lies on Abu Ali Farsi's general views on the development of linguistic phenomena including synonymity, antonymity, parallelism, lexical assimilation, and metathesis. The paper sheds light on the views erroneously attributed to Abu Ali Farsi, somehow analyzing and rectifying misinterpretations given to his views.
