Aims and Scope

The quarterly journal Literary Text Research (Matn Pazhuhi-ye Adabi) is dedicated to publishing original and innovative research in the field of critical analysis and interpretation of Persian literary texts. With a focus on both classical and contemporary Persian literature, the journal welcomes articles that employ interdisciplinary theories and contemporary approaches to literary criticism in text-centered studies of literary works, thereby contributing to the advancement of knowledge and critical understanding of Persian literary texts.

The journal particularly encourages submissions that offer original interpretations through close textual analysis, contribute to theoretical discussions in literary criticism, or expand critical understanding of Persian literary works through interdisciplinary perspectives. Comparative literature studies are also considered, provided that Persian literature constitutes a principal component of the comparison and occupies a central position in the analysis.

The journal’s main areas of interest include:

  • Critical analysis of Persian literary texts (application of literary theories and critical approaches to the study of Persian literature);
  • Structural, thematic, and narrative analysis of literary texts;
  • Comparative literary studies with a primary focus on Persian literature (examination of intertextual relationships between Persian literature and other literary traditions);
  • Interdisciplinary approaches to the analysis of Persian literary texts (the relationship between literature and politics, psychology, the arts, and related fields).
