Abstract

One of the most important controversial issues among Islamic philosophers and mystics is the thought of man's fall from the Heavenly World to the Material one. The basis of man's fall is that Adam had lived in Heaven at the beginning but was exiled from Eden to the material world because of the sin he committed. In this paper, existence and spirituality of the soul is considered as the main roots of man's fall and discusses that great philosophers and mystics are dubious in explaining the said two issues. This paper investigates into this doubt in the writings of IbnSina and Rumi.
