Hermeneutics has entered into a new field after the appearance of new notions offered by Hans-Georg Gadamer ( 1900 - 200 I ). Thus, we should have a look at the perspectives of the new hermeneutic notions suggested by Gadamer. This essay has two parts: First, we will discuss the etymology of the word 'hermeneutics', referring to its history and place of birth. Then, we will deal with its general trends, snrveying Gadamer's basic notions, such as hermeneutic question, the issue of the text and the problem of its uuderstanding.
