Abstract

Historically, poem is defined as a versed, rhythmed, and imagery speech; but nowadays, it may be considered with some more characteristics. Based on five components of affection, music, language, imagination and form, Shafiei Kadkani defines poem as: "a mixture or entanglement of affection and imagination which is formed by melodious words". This defiinition may be a measure to assess and criticize poetry characteristics of literal works. In this library research, we aim to study "Monazere-y-e- Goharhā", a thecnical and complicated prose work, based on its affection, language, music, imagination and form components to assess the extent of its writer success in transforming a scientific prose work to a literal poetic one.

In this treatise, the writer has used of gemology to create a literal work. Gemology is a part of our traditional sciences which describe features, advantages, disadvantages, maintenance methods and the price and value of precious and, even, some low value sones and, sometimes, perfumes. Typically, as other scientific textbooks, geology works or "Gohar namehā" use of simple language. Yet, the abnormal, imagery, and literal approach of the unknown author of "Monāzer-y-e Goharhā" to describe jewels and their characteristics, his/her addressing this novel subject in the field of literature, use of narrative style and debate, deep semantic correlations, a huge body of descriptions and unique and complicated literal arrays, leads the reader to consider this work literal rather than scientific.
