(Logical Analysis of the Course of Allegorical Language to Empathetic Language in Mysticism Based on Masnavi)

Abstract:

In his Masnavi, Mawlānā Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Rūmī tries hard to make the subtleties of mysticism understandable to everyone by developing an empathetic language. Therefore, he chooses the allegorical language as the empathetic language. That allegorical language creates empathy is reasonably possible, but it needs logical explanation. This article was an attempt to prove this using a descriptive-analytical method based on reasoning and logic. It did so through ten logical sequences and processes and showed that Mawlānā was able to convert allegorical language to empathetic language, which is a mystical language, based on this precise intellectual process, thereby creating colinguality and copoetry among his audience. These ten processes are: 1. Reasoning 2. Rational imagination 3. Shaping 4. Semanticism 5. Creating beauty 6. Persuasion 7. Purification 8. Empathy 9. Colinguality, and 10. Copoetry.
