Abstract

Analyzing the relationship between world literary texts comparatively can double the pleasure of reading these works. Meanwhile, the lyrical poem “Hosseina and Delaram”, by Hosseina, and Othello by Shakespeare, have many striking similarities, despite the differences in literary genre and cultural origin. Thus, the aim is to discover the interconnectedness of two literary works. The research method is a descriptive analysis based on the comparative American school, which compares the similarities and differences of these works. The results show that the similar themes of lovers' love and rival jealousy, their linear structure, the dual correspondences of the main characters and the similar dramatic actions of the characters are common similarities between them, and the lovers’ suspicion towards the beloved predominates in both. Their difference is that Othello remains in the emotion arena due to jealousy and kills her; but Hosseina, by passing through the stage of emotion, enters the reason arena and achieves the union of the beloved.
