A Syntactic Rhetoric in the Historical Prose of Nafsatol Masdoor Zeydari Nasavi

Abstract

Nowadays, the study of the effect of rhetoric on contemporary syntax and structure is of fundamental importance in linguistics; In the Persian language, so far no independent research has been done on the rhetorical effect and syntactic arrangement in the texts of artificial and obligatory prose with the focus on the book Nafthat-l-Masdur (Nafseh al-Masdoor). In this article, we will first examine the syntax and its relationship with grammar and rhetoric, and after critically reviewing the background of the research, we will explain the rhetorical function of syntax in the text of Nafthat-l-Masdur, and by citing examples and simultaneously referring to the situational, emotional, and melodic context of Zeidari's words and for the sake of the audience's happiness, we show the author's art in the rhetorical use of syntactic structure. In this article, we have achieved results with a syntactic approach to the structure of Persian grammar and also Djorjānī's rhetoric. The results of this research, which has been obtained in a descriptive-analytical manner and based on library data, show that Zeidari has used the proper arrangement and orchestration for imitations and internal dialogue with himself. The way in which the elements of sentences are combined and placed in the form of rhetorical and stylistic categories has been caused.
