Abstract

The Cognitive poetic theory is a theory based on the language of literary works and the type of arrangement of linguistic units that leads to the discovery of the relationship between the structure and concept of a literary work. This theory enables the systematic reading of literary texts with the tools it provides to the analyst for literary criticism. The purpose of this study is to investigate the interpretive levels of the two poems in terms of structure and content with the above approach to explain how the structure of poems affects the construction of Shafiee intellectual coding world. For this purpose, by performing three mappings of the attribute, relational and system, in two poems: "lyric in passion and blossoming" and "youth" the author's reasoning processes were examined. It was concluded that the organization of conceptual spaces in these two poems is based on the Container scheme and the author's intellectual world has influenced the structure of the poems. Cognitively, in the poet's perfectionist thought, there is always the possibility of getting out of the unwanted space, and changing circumstances begins with oneself. The system mapping of poems showed that the poems are within the framework of a coherent linguistic structure. The mental form, which is the content link of the work, is in harmony with the external form of the poems and is presented to the audience in the form of an integrated abstract pattern. This is a reason for the coherence and effectiveness of the poems.
