Abstract

In this study, It was examined that the story in the Safavid era, for whatever reason, has grown in quality and quantity over any period in the history of literature. To this end, the tales of the Safavid era were studied. The results of this study show that the reason for the story's growth in this age was the political and social function of the story. The political significance of the story in this era is the consolidation and development of the ideological foundations of government, which are as follows: "Shiiee structures in the stories of the era; conversion of the opposition to the Shiiee religion" and "Integration of the national hero into a religious hero": Imam-Pahlavan Is. From a social point of view, storytelling has also been popular among the masses during this period, and storytellers have committed themselves, albeit eagerly, to the story, in storytelling venues, especially qahve khane. The combination of these two social and political factors has made Naqqal, had position of malek alshoara and sometimes a higher status and has also made the story important and pioneering over other literary genres during this period.
