In a profoundly impressive verse in Shahnameh, sky is likened to red ruby. The present paper is attempted to probe into the background of the conventional belief regarding the relationship between sky and stone, for the semantic structure of the verse is composed in such a way that it is not possible to consider this relationship as being a conceptualistic viewpoint so that one may establish some sort of similarity between the two. And this phenomenon lays the foundation of the present paper.

The methods employed today for the correction and publication of the old Persian texts that come to be closely similar to the original, are greatly indebted to the attempts made by late Allameh Dehkhoda, Allameh Ghazvini, and of course Dr. Mohammad Moin. Since the method of correcting texts is in fact based on scrupulous scrutiny, thus, leaning on different sources, attempt has been made in this paper to introduce Dr. moin's activities as well the works corrected by him in the hope that the present work would prepare the grounds for the researchers and students in particular, to take the further steps in this connection. The author of this paper deemed it right to allocate the introductory part of this paper to a segment of the letter of will written by Nima Yushij whose activities and works in a new literary realm opened a new horizon in our literature.

The present paper is intended to deal with a certain kind of deconstruction and deviation from literary norms found in Mathnavi Ma'navi. Comparison is also made between the Mathnavi and other great literary works. Unlike other Persian literary works, Mathnavi does not begin in the name of the God, praising the prophet and other great religious men. Instead, it starts with the famous complaint expressed by the reed. This way, a man-Molana Jalaledin Balkh-• who has reached the highest and most significant levels of the mvsric path, achieving the most paramount experiences in this connection, expresses the deepest secrets of human spirit. With due attention to above mentioned focal point, 'politeness' is given a comprehensive definition. At the beginning, the paper also describes the Mathnavi as expressing politeness before the Almighty God, which Molavi has presented in the beginning of his complaint in the most beautiful manner.

The present paper is the result of the surveys done on the translation of the Robaiyyat-e Hakim Omar Khayyam Sera'iki language. These translations that are mostly done on the basis of valid and authentic texts both in the Persian and English languages, can be divided into two categories: i. Translation into prose of the Robaiyyat ii. Translation into verse of the Robaiyyat together with explanatory remarks. It's worth mentioning here that the Sera'iki language, spoken in Molta'i of Pakistan by some 14 million, is culturally a rich language.

In this article, love is defined from the point of view of Socrates, Plato, Ibn-e Arabi, and Molavi the attributes of which are investigated. The author has mainly attempted to investigate the viewpoints of Molavi on this subject, demonstrating that Molavi considered love as the state of attraction between two spirits, and that his ultimate goal in writing the story of "shah va kanizak" was to suggest that any sort of love initiating in this world is mortal if it is based on materialistic knowledge and that themundane love is not suitable for such a state. Hence, by contrast a love which does not originate from this world definitely has its origin in the other world and will eventually lead the lover towards God. To conclude the article, the views of such scholars as Sanaii, Ein-Ul• Ghozat, Attar and Hafez are employed.

Molana' s school of mystical thinking is deemed to be thoroughly independent from that of Ibn-e Arabi. To simply demonstrate that Molana visited Ibn-e Arabi in Damascus ( at the time when Molana was young and the latter quite old), and that Molana associated with and developed friendship with Sadr-e Ghunavi ( the greatest advocate of Ibn-e Arabi), and that they shared common viewpoints are proofs that Molana was deeply under the influence of Ibn-e Arabi.

The article "Demon" in Shahnameh is derived from the term div (demon) which was in use in Iranian culture before the Islamic era, and which changed into "jinn" like many other terms after introduction of Islam to Iran. The main objective of this paper is to propound the confrontation of human with the divs, for they were always considered as agents spoiling human life, defying human values. Introducing such evil entities, Ferdowsi elaborates on their characteristics, highlighting the permanent and unceasing challenge of Iranians against evil thoughts and deeds.

The development of the Persian poetry in the Indian Subcontinent is investigated in this paper. It is emphasized that the Persian literature and language was developing in India along with the Persian literature and language in Iran. Any transition of any nature occurring in Iran left its impact on even remote lands, making the ground for Khorasani, Azarbayejani and Araghi styles flourish in India simultaneous with Iran. The relations between Iran and India dating back to pre-Islamic era to Safavid dynasty are also pointed out in this paper; and the presence of Iranians in the Subcontinent and theit departure to Indonesia and even to Java and Sumatra Islands constitute a part of this research. The emergence of Indian style and immigration of poets from Iran to India owing to the policies of Safavid kings are included among the topics discussed herein.

The present paper is an attempt to recommend a manuscript copy of a book under the title of " Ehya-e Ulum-e Din" ( which literally translates into revival of religious sciences). The book was transcribed and simultaneously corrected by a learned calligrapher, Esmail Maraghi, in Savojbolagh (now mahabad). The manuscript was dedicated to Budagh-Sultan, the then ruler of Mokarian, an area the principal city of which used to be Savojbolagh. However, the invaluable manuscript of his, like the myriad priceless works of Iranian origin which were earlier plundered, presently rests in the National Library of Cairo. The paper further elaborates on the status of works by Ghazali and Kordestani scholars, and men of thought in religious and theological fields, which constitute a major portion of the vast collection of Islamic writings and works.

I had the opportunity of being one of the students of Professor Seyyed Hasan Agha Ghazi Tabatabaii in Faculty of Literature at Tabriz University some seventeen years ago. Once we happened to talk about Monsha 'at Amir Nezam Garrousi and its correction, and the professor eagerly recommended that I correct this book under his supervision. To start with, he provided me with a lithographic copy of his Monsha 'at so that I could rewrite the text and take down its difficulties. Unfortunately, after his demise, the task remained unfinished, though I treasure his book. Now, after all these years, I have extracted his remarks recorded on the margins of the book to be published in "Zaban va A dab".
